Social projects behind the brands
Like any company, Ecowings has a mission. And it's not about earning as much money as possible at all costs, it's about offering everyone at Ecowings a good income and a stable future. Also the importance of contributing to the protection of human beings and the environment. This is done by removing the truck's inner tubes from the waste stream and recycling them into high quality products. So Ecowings helps reduce CO2 emissions and shows that you don't need to cut down a forest or need animal skins to run a healthy business.
Hindbag impact stories
Hindbag works in cooperation with the NGO Swami Sivananda Memorial Institute (SSMI), based in Delhi. The objective is to allow the NGO to no longer depend on donations thanks to fixed income.
Today, Hindbag represents the most important source of income for the NGO. Relying on the know-how of the seamstresses and the activity of Hindbag, the NGO managed to become financially independent. All profits go towards Empowering Women, educating children and fighting malnutrition, the 3 main commitments of SSMI.
Krochet Kids established their first direct commercial production facility in Uganda in 2007 and many of the hats they sell today are still made in that same community.
They also partner with artisans in Peru and other Fair Trade Certified suppliers around the world.
Every product is signed by the person who made it. With each purchase you are empowering them and their families toward a brighter future through fair-wage employment.
Love is Project
Love Is Project supports over 2000 artisans and is committed to treating them the way they should be treated. In an interview with artisans about how these works changed their lives, they shared what mattered most to them:
- Financial independence for women
- Water and food security for their families
- Education for your children
- Access to health and maternity care
Fast-forward to 2014 and 50 countries later, a collection of LOVE stories began to unfold. It always started with the same question: What does LOVE mean to you?
With each bracelet sold, Love Is Project empowers thousands of female artisans in developing countries around the world through fair wages, healthcare, education, and more, paving the way to a positive future ahead.
Solid helps young people, women and families build a solid foundation for their own future! By providing them with education, fair employment, or helping them build social and parenting skills, and most importantly, by believing in their growth potential.
Solid puts people in the South on track to take their lives in their own hands and to make help unnecessary. Solid strongly believes in the combination of two strategies, to empower people on the long term: responsible commercial entities that provide employment and social organizations that accompany the most vulnerable. Profits generated by the commercial activities, are reinvested, in social activities for these communities, with specific attention to personal development and awareness of one's own strength.
Vurchoo - Studs of Hope
The idea of Vurchoo was planted while Alex, the brand's founder and designer, traveled around Cambodia and saw street children doing what they could to survive. Some of them selling everything they could, including fantastic creations they made themselves, but without a proper outlet for them.
Alex wanted to find a way to use his passion for design to help them. He decided to work with schools in all corners of the globe, asking children to draw what meant the most to them. The results were fantastic, from the colors of Africa to the emotions of Asia, each was a reflection of the child's history and the culture that surrounded her.
For every design sold, Vurchoo donates between 10 and 25% of the proceeds from each sale to charities, in the UK and abroad, through its UK registered partner charity, Teach a Man to Fish.
